Intro
Why the hell are you reading this? Close this page RIGHT NOW, and go listen to this damn album. This album is one of my all time favourite albums of all time. It is an absolute masterpiece, almost every song is absolute S tier, and I cannot give a higher recommendation than this album. It's NOT FAIR, because look above the image. Look at the members of the band. MIKE KERR, AND BEN THATCHER. That's IT. TWO PEOPLE in this band, and they manage to rock harder than anyone I've ever seen. Their live performances are absolutely INCREDIBLE, I HIGHLY recommend checking out their sets. Super good, go listen to this album and you won't be disappointed.
Thoughts & Feelings?
This album makes me feel like I'm on a nightly walk and 3 guys try to jump me, but I pull off some matrix shit and kick their asses. This album goes so god damn hard because every song is an absolute masterpiece. Mike Kerr does such an amazing job on the vocals and making every riff unique in its own way. His use of the bass guitar makes you think it's a traditional electric guitar, but that's just his creative genius coming out through the use of so many pedals. Ben Thatcher rocks so god damn hard on the drums, it knocks your socks off. He does such a great job in the live performances too, bringing out so many instruments like cowbells and gongs.
I've heard a lot of hate about this band and this album, don't listen to that shit. Everyone that says that is wrong. Royal Blood are an S tier band in my opinion, and no one will ever change that opinion. This band kicks ass, this album kicks ass, just enjoy the ride. If you hate this band or this album- you're wrong. Accept it.
Smash or Pass?
Out of the Black - SMASH, GET USED TO THAT WORD. This song is INSANE. The outro solo is the kind of shit that makes me want to keep living.
Come on Over - SMASH. I fucking love these riffs, they are all so sick. "There's no god and I don't really care.", TOP TIER.
Figure It Out - SMMMAAAASSSSHHHHH. This is the snog you'll hear most often on the radio, but despite that it is WELL deserved. It's such a sick song that triggers goosebumps every time it comes on. Absolutely nuts, and also the first song I heard to discover this band.
You Can Be So Cruel - Smash. This song is a low point of the album and STILL smash. Still groovy as fuck. Sick outro as well.
Blood Hands - Smash. Another low point of the album, but that low is VERY fucking high. This song is definitely good, but you can generally skip it when listening. Another sexy solo near the end.
Little Monster - SMAAAASSSHHHH. This is one of the COOLEST fucking songs I've ever heard. The riffs in this song are beyond comprehension for me. Crank the volume, and LISTEN TO THIS ONE LIVE.
Loose Change - Smash. The riffs in this one are so god damn sexy, and the live version is AWESOME because of how much anticipation they add sometimes. This one is super groovy, and it's an easy listen every time it comes on.
Careless - Smash. This is the final low point of the album, but this song is definitely sick. The chorus really kicks ass and will get you moving. Another easy listen when this one comes on.
Ten Tonne Skeleton - SMASH. This one is SUPER sick, super groovy. Sits in my playlist rent free. The riffs get stuck in my head pretty much every time I think about this band. The chorus gives me fucking chills every time.
Better Strangers - Smash. This is the perfect song to end an album. It's like the calm after the storm that makes you reflect about what madness you just went through. Good riffs all around. MWAH, Chefs kiss on the master chef cake.
Conclusion
Go listen to this album and get back to me. It is an absolute joyride, and I highly recommend checking out their other albums when you enjoy this one. Also go listen to them live, they're JUST as good if not better. You're welcome.
