I don't have anything clever to say for the title, so I'm just gonna write the score. S+. Never done before on punkrockpicks.com but it's now baby let's go.

Hey! Happy Saturday everyone! Well, it's Saturday for me, it'll be Monday for you if you're reading this. Shoutout to OUR LAST NIGHT, BABY. You know me, I fucking LOVE this band. I remember when this album was released, and I was... skeptical. I was skeptical because they released this album in two parts. They released "Let Light Overcome", and then they released "The Darkness", so if you are searching for this one and you see TWO different albums, it makes sense. I'm going to treat this as one album though because that's how it's intended to be. This is the point where Our Last Night explores polar opposites. They explore going more hip hop pop style, and they explore going more heavy as fuck style. What do I think? Let's check it out. This'll be the last Our Last Night album for a while because this is their latest, KINDA?

Thoughts & Feelings?

Shoutout to Mr. Woody Woodrow. This is his FINAL album with the band, because he left shortly after this was released. I was pretty fucking bummed after that happened. However at least we have one last night with him.

Spoiler alert: I'm looking at the song list before giving this album my 100th listen in my life and I'm just realizing that this is easily my favourite album. Whatever I gave Age of Ignorance is nothing compared to this album. This album is going to be an EASY S tier because of how many fucking bad ass fucking SWEET BANGERS are on this album. There ARE ZERO BAD SONGS ON THIS ALBUM. You will easily enjoy EVERY, FUCKING, SINGLE, FUCKING, SONG, FUCKING, ON, THIS FUCKING, FUCKING, FUCKING, ALBUM. This is a great album, and I'm so FUCKING happy I'm doing it. Sorry for swearing, dad.

This album makes me feel like I've died and gone to "heaven". I'm not a religious person at ALL but if there WAS a heaven, it would be Trevor Wentworth, Matt Wentworth, Alex "Woody" Woodrow, and Tim Molloy playing music for me in my FUCKING EARS. This is so fucking good. Honestly I might be more passionate about this album than Dookie or Master of Puppets, that's tricky. Honestly I'm gonna give the go-ahead, I am more passionate about this album than Master of Puppets, but not the song itself. I have no idea where that ranks it though. We'll have to talk about that later, you and I. Anyway, yeah, don't fucking ask me to elaborate further. Love ya.

Shoutout to myself. This is my favourite album of all time. I'm making a statement. Re-listening to this album by myself on Saturday night while kinda drunk as fuck I'm just like- holy fuck I love this album so much. This is a big moment for me. This is SO FUCKING GOOD. Easily my favourite album of all time. SAYING IT NOW, not taking it back. This is my favourite album of all time.

Smash or Pass?

Hysteria - SMAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Shoutout to Muse. This is SO FUCKING HEAVY. FUUUCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK. Easily one of the heaviest songs I've ever fucking heard. It's also FUCKING GROOVY. For the first time in PRP history, I have maxed out the volume on my headphones just to listen to this fucking song. This song is FUCKING AWESOME and probably one of the heaviest songs I've ever heard in my fucking life. There are a LOT of these kind of songs on this album. This album is HEAVY AS FUCK. It's also the most groovy shit I've ever heard. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THAT MOTHER FUCKING BREAKDOWN. I don't think I've heard a better breakdown in my fucking life (on this album). This song is the BOMB, and it's not even a medal song. It's FUCKING SICK. SICK. ABSOLUTELY FILTHY. It's so good.

The Leap - SMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH. SHOUTOUT TO MY SISTER AVERY. Her and I went to an Our Last Night concert in November of 2019, and she was a BOSS ASS BITCH during that concert. It was ABSOLUTELY NOT her style of music, she DOES NOT LIKE METAL, but I bought tickets to go see them, I was originally going to go with a girl I was dating at the time but she bailed on me and broke up with me so Avery and I went. She was the GREATEST at that fucking concert. It was a little venue in Toronto and basically during song... 2? 3? She took my hand, looked at me and said "Do you wanna get closer?" and I said FUCK YES. She literally Moses'd the FUCK out of that venue. She literally made everyone move and got us to the fucking front baby let's go. It was SO surreal, that literally felt like a fucking dream. Anyway, we were there having an AMAZING time and they played this song- The Leap. The bassist- a great man named Woody Woodrow literally got into the crowd, walked past us, we were all hanging out with him and shit and he fucking played this song while an entire mosh circle was going around him. That was easily the coolest fucking moment of my life. That was sick. Shoutout to you Aves, love you so fucking much. Let's go. Great concert, great song, great shit, great FUCKING EVERYTHING MAN.

The Beaten Path - SMAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH. I wish I could turn my volume up louder than it already is. I can already tell this is going to be a TOUGHY for me, medal wise. I fucking love all of these fucking songs. Ranking many albums before my so far, this album does what I wish all other bands did. They do SO many different things, and they all just WORK. Tod Howard over here, it just works. This song is FUCKING AMAZING. Absolutely fucking top tier. It's... perfect. It's... absolutely perfect. I don't even think I'd give this song a medal, but it's absolutely perfect. This band does everything correctly. It's incredible. Sorry I'm sucking the dicks of these boys but honestly I've never heard a band that is so consistently good as these guys. They are incredible. This song is FUCKING AWESOME. HEAVY AS FUCK. GREAT FUCKING BREAKDOWN. How are these guys not bigger than some of the name bands these days? It's insane to me how under the radar these guys are that it makes me fucking question myself and others. These songs are fucking AMAZING, WHERE ARE YOU GUYS? LIKE, THESE GUYS ARE GREAT. Castle In The Sky - SMASH. Honestly this is one of my least favourite songs but it's still fucking MILES better than most songs. This one just feels a LIIIIIIIIIITTLE bit generic but that's okay. It's still a fucking AMAZING song, and you would LOVE it if you liked the other shit I review. I have nothing wrong with this song it's just a LITTLE generic. That's okay though it's an amazing song and holy fuck it's great. It's a GREAT song. This would be the greatest song of most bands, but compared to Our Last Night it's average. Yeah honestly nothing wrong with this one, I love it I just don't wanna listen to it cause I've heard it 10,000 times and I'm not SUPER crazy. MUCH FUCKING LOVE THOUGH, super great song.

Lost - SMASH. I want to FUCKING CRY. I know this isn't a crazy heavy crazy song like the last few, but holy FUUUCCCKKKKK. How is this shit not on the radio every fucking day? I really don't get it. It's crazy to me how these boys aren't more popular than they are. This song makes me wanna fucking cry my eyes out. I fucking LOVE this song. It's a slow, sad, crying my eyes out song. Perfect for my fucking life. This shit is just so... emotional. That's exactly it. The FUCKING GUITAR during the "I'll never leave you" part, holy FUCKING. FUCK. Sorry for the language. This... yeah. This. This. This. This. This is SO GREAT. This is easily the "WORST" song of the album, but this would be the BEST song on over 90% of albums I've reviewed. It does SO MANY THINGS RIGHT, I would easily put this in my playlist. I would put every song on this album in my playlist but I don't wanna add too many OLN songs to the list so I cannot, however this is... holy fuck. Yeah add this one.

Bury The Hatchet - SMMMMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. This is EASILY going to be my LONGEST album review of all fucking time. THIS SONG IS THE HEAVIEST FUCKING SONG I'VE EVER HEARD IN MY FUCKING LIFE. FUCK OFF ALL OF YOU FUCK OFF EVERYONE THIS SONG MAKES ME SO FUCKING HYPED AND ANGRY IT'S SO AMAZING. EASILY THE HEAVIEST SONG FUCKING EVER. This song is FUCKING AMAZING. Easily so FUCKINRGIOKFADJNGSNDFLGHSJ. There we go that's what I feel. This song is PERFECT. This song is EXACTLY what I need it to be. Absolute PERFECTION. Holy FUCK BRO. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS AOUGBFHDIGASHNDFJKNGSDFGSJKDFKGSDGSFDGHSD. THIS SHIT IS INSANE. IT'S SO FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. Give it 26 FUCKING SECONDS AND YOU'LL REALIZE WHAT FUCKING BAND YOU'RE LISTENING TO BABY. LET'S FUCKING GO. Come ON. This song is SO FUCKING GOOD. It's probably the 3rd "WORST" song on this album but HOLY FUCK LIKE- THIS SONG IS FUCKING AMAZING I would EASILY add this song to my playlist. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Heavy ASS FUCKING SONG. Holy fuck. This song is INCREDIBLE. HOW AM I THE ONLY PERSON ON FUCKING PLANET EARTH WHO THINKS THIS BAND IS BETTER THAN 99.999999999% OF OTHER BANDS?????????? LIKE WHAT THE FUCK????? Bleed For You - SMASH. Holy fuck this song I just need to close my eyes and vibe to for a second. FUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. Another "DOWN" song, but that isn't saying fucking much. Okay let's have a conversation since this is a "down song". This album is better than Master of Puppets the album, however Battery and Master of Puppets are greater than the best 2 songs on this album. Green Day... let's talk. This album is... better put together than any Green Day album- however... I think there are a LOT better Green Day songs than the best songs on this album. I have no idea though because Losing Sleep is honestly one of the greatest songs I've ever heard in my fucking life, but there are like over 10 Green Day songs that I am AS passionate about, so there we go that's my standings with how I feel. This is my favourite album of all time, but Battery and Master of Puppets are the best songs to ever exist on planet earth, and Green Day makes me feel things I haven't felt since I was per-pubescent and exploring girls, even to this day. Anyway, moving on.

Outnumbered - SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. BACK TO HEAVYVILLE, BABY. HOLY FUCK. This is like the perfect balance between like "hip hop" and metal. You'd understand if you listened to the vocals. It almost feels like a modern hip hop song which is exactly the take they're going for. The PROBLEM is they maintain the HEAVY AS FUCK mentality, so they can't shake that ever. It's FUCKING AWESOME. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS FUCKING SONG. THE FUCKING EARLY BREAKDOWN, FASKDHJFGASDHKJG DA UJGHDFS GSKFGHSD HDF.GHDFGKLJH SDJKFHGKQASDJ FGJKASHDJGUAHGFFYCK I LOVE WHEN TREVOR SCREAMS HIS FUCKING ASS OFF. That shit is FUCKING INSANE. THE FUCKIFJASDG FUCKI FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. THE ACTUAL ACTUAL BREAKDOWN. bruh. bruh. bruh. bruh. bruh. bruh. bruh. bruh. bruh. bruh. that's all I can say. Holy fuck. Bruh. Yeah that's fucking insane. This shit is so fucking heavy. Holy, fuck.

Soul Speak - SMMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. This is number 3. I'm gonna start crying. I'm legit crying. Yeah this is it. This is number 3 for me. I'm crying my fucking eyes out. What else can I say. This song is fucking incredible and so fucking good that I'm just crying. I love it. It's a great fucking song, this is fucking PERFECT. How can a band write such a good fucking song, it's insane. It's not fucking fair, is it? It's perfect. This fucking song is perfect. This is just... absolute perfection. Listen to this song and tell me it's a bad song- you can not because you will not- because you can not. This song is one of the greatest things mankind has ever created. This shit gives me hope in humanity. This is... a PERFECT song. Do I like it more than Master of Puppets? OH BOY. I have... no idea. MAYBE, and this is only the #3 song. Holy fuck.

Let Light Overcome The Darkness - SMASH. I'm fucking upset. I'm upset. Not only because this is a great great great great song, it's fucking sad. This is the song you know it's all over. I might even cry during this song just because of how I've felt so far. Holy Trevor stop being my therapist. Yeah this is the final song and just enjoy the ride. You just endured the most perfect album I've ever heard in my life. Even the songs that aren't AMAZING on this album are still S tier compared to the gold medal songs on most other albums. OLN is not my favourite band, so that just shows how much I love Green Day and Metallica, but holy fuck... this album makes me question myself so fucking deeply. I forgot how much I love this album honestly. Yeah... fucking INCREDIBLE. The PERFECT song to end this album. This is the PERFECT album-ender.
