Intro

Can you believe this is the first Megadeth album I've reviewed? It certainly won't be the last because I fucking LOVE Megadeth. This album has so much to appreciate, it IS A PERFECT ALBUM. This is a perfect album. End of story. This album is an absolute masterpiece that does everything imaginable. This era was probably the best lineup Megadeth ever had, and Marty goes FUCKING NUTS, it's awesome. Anyway if you don't like thrash metal, I employ you to PLEASE give this one a chance. I know the vocals are harsh and shitty but that's not why we love Megadeth. We love Megadeth for the badass riffs, the fast pace action, and the sexy ass guitar solos. What do I think of them all? Let's FUCKING GET INTO IT.

Thoughts & Feelings?

This album makes me feel like I'm in that one scene of Tenacious D where I'm trying to sneak into the Rock and Roll hall of fame- you know- Jack Black sneaking round the corner and singing about sneaking round the corner and security camera and shit and jumping into the vent and shit, my fucking blood is going and I am so high energy listening to these fucking songs. Anyway don't ask me to elaborate further.

Sorry, this is a LONG review because I have many things to say. This album is such a masterpiece that every song is just... incredible. Shoutout to all my fellow Megadeth fans, this is their magnum opus and we all know it. This album is fucking SICK and I wish I could listen to it for the first time again because I've listened to this album so many fucking times.

This review is literally just me screaming about how much I love these songs. Super sorry if you were here thinking that I was intelligent at all- fuck no. I'm a dumbass that likes sexy riffs, fast songs, solos and going batshit crazy. So yeah, sorry if you think this review is going to be at all concise.

Holy Wars...The Punishment Due -  SMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. EASILY the #2 song on this fucking album. THIS SONG HAS LITERALLY EVERYTHING YOU WANT OUT OF A FUCKING THRASH SONG. IT'S FAST PACED ACTION, PEDAL POINT SEXY GUITAR RIFFS, MAD GUITAR SOLOS LIKE WHAT THE FUCK. Let's talk about this song as it goes on because I have A FUCKING LOT to say about this song. Holy FUCK what a song this is. Story behind this song is Dave Mustaine saw some dudes selling bootleg Megadeth shirts and wrote this song, idk man don't ask me. As harsh and as shitty as Dave's voice is, holy FUCK does it sound ACCEPTABLE in this song. By the way, that RIFF UNDERNEATH THE VERSES, HOLY FUCK. That gets stuck in my head every fucking DAY. DAILY rent free in my head. Holy FUCK that god damn acoustic guitar, then RIGHT BACK INTO THE ACTION. What an absolute transition. Also holy fuck this part is heavy as FUCK. Absolute MASTERPIECE of a song. First actual solo and it's a FUCKING SLAM. Those harmonics too the fuck?? So good. I won't stop talking about this song until it's over, sorry boys and girls and everything else. Second solo coming up here and HELLLLLL YEAH. Absolute groovin. Then all of a sudden it goes into this LIKE... PALM MUTED HARMONIC THAT SHIT IS THE HEAVIEST FUCKING THING ON PLANET EARTH, HOLY HELL YOU COULD CRUSH DIAMOND WITH THIS RIFF. Then 3rd solo coming up. Holy FUCK what a great solo. I absolutely fucking LOVE IT. AAAAAAAAA. HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK THAT BACK AND FORTH SHIT LIKE GOD DAMN WHAT A FUCKING SOLO. HOLY FUCK. Absolute HEAVY. CRUSHING. Balls to walls for an ending here. A MERCY, KILLINGS.MERCY KILLINGS. MERCY KILLINGS. KILLINGS. KILLINGS. KILLINGSINGUAGDASAGDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. PERFECT SONG.

Hangar 18 - SMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Easily the 3rd best song on this album. This is the SOLO song, because there are like fucking 6 solo sections in this song. SHOUTOUT TO CALL OF KTULU BABY IT'S THE SAME CHORD PROGRESSION. TOO BAD THIS SONG WAS MORE POPULAR THOOUUGGHHH. Holy fuck this song is the grooviest fucking song on the planet, I absolutely LOVE that fucking droning D string. GREAT use of harmony in this song. I could sing this song at the top of my fucking lungs cause it's such a great fucking fun song to sing let's go baby. Absolutely FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG. Okay here we go solo 1. STARTING OFF STRONG. Absolute groovy bitchass. MASTERCLASS HARMONY THERE, AND BACK INTO THE SONG. HOLY FUCK THIS SONG IS JUST SO FUCKING FUN. MILITARY INTELLIGENCE, TWO WORDS COMBINED THAT CAN'T MAKE SENSE, HOLY FUCK WHAT A LINE. Solo 2 coming up here. Absolute perfection. I could only hope to one day be able to make a solo half as good as these bitches. Then here we go a little TIME CHANGE AND IT'S FUCKING SICK. HOLY FUCK SOLOS ARE SO GOOD. Then GROOVY ASS RIFFS to get you really excited for what's about to show up. MORE SOLOS OWOOWOWOWO. This is the part where Dave and Marty just go back and forth trading solos. Usually the more complex ones are Marty and the dirty ball to wall ones are Dave. HOLY FUCK that chuggy part just before the next solo is fucking GREAT. GRABBING that fucking E string too holy fuck I love that part. It's so fucking funny to me because you can literally hear who is playing the solo based on how sloppy or clean it is. Final solo let's fucking GO JUST RIP IT RIP THAT FUCKING STRING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE.

Take No Prisoners - SMMAAAAAASSSSHHHH. ABSOLUTE GROOVE FEST going on here. Holy FUCK LISTEN TO THAT GUITAR RIFF. Just wait till it breaks down in the intro holy FUCK WHAT A FUCKING RIFFS DO YOU KNOW HOW FUCKING HARD THAT IS TO PLAY??? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW FUCKING DIFFICULT THAT IS TO PLAY? LOOK UP THE TABS TO THIS FUCKING SONG AND TRY IT, IT'S ABSOLUTELY BUTTSHIT GOOD. IT'S SO HARD NOT TO SING THIS SONG. This song is the grooviest fucking shit ever. Holy FUCKING BASS too. I absolutely love the breaks for the guitar to rip a little bit. THEN THE BASS IS LIKE DOOBILYDOOBILYDOOBILYDOOBILYDOOBILY, HOLY FUCK THAT SHIT IS SO GOOD AND ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. Literally the greatest fucking thing, cures my depression that 3 seconds of bass, 10/10. I fucking LOVE this song, this is probably #5 for me, but we don't give out medals past 3. Every song here deserves a medal, but only the top 3 are gonna get one. ANYWAY, I love the focus on bass on this song and the album. The bass is SO LOUD and perfect.

Five Magics - SMMAAAASSSHHHH. Holy FUCK this song is so ominous, absolute MAGIC. Haha, get it? Hilarious, I know. BASS IS SEXY AND LOUD AND GROOVY, AND THE HARMONY GUITARS AT THE BEGINNING ARE FUCKING NUTS. Holy FUCK. ABSOLUTE GROOVY. This shit is metal down to the very fucking core. YEEESSSSSSS THEN DAVE STARTS SINGING IT CHANGES THE ENTIRE SONG IT'S GREAT. HOLY FUCK WHAT IS THAT RIFF AFTER DAVE SINGING LIKE WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THAT'S NOT ALLOWED, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT HOLY FUCK IT'S SO WEIRD, IT'S SO WEIRD AND SO STRANGE IT'S SO AMAZING HOLY FUCK. Absolute amazing it's like I'm so FUCKING CONFUSED ABOUT HOW THE SONG IS HAPPENING. ELECTRICITY. MAGIC IF YOU PLEASE, BRING HIM TO HIS KNEES, HOLY FUCK THAT PART IS AMAZING. I love when the second guy starts singing. That's fucking hilarious, no idea who that is but it's great. More funny moments like that please holy fuck. It's probably Dave, let me go look. HOLY FUCK THAT SOLO NEAR THE END THAT SHIT IS LITERALLY ONE OF THE GREATEST SOLOS, However... the greatest solo OF ALL TIME, out of ANY SONG is on this album... You'll know when. I'm not gonna spoil it for you. MWAH, AMAZING SONG.

Poison Was The Cure - SMMAAAASSHHHHH. SPOOKY. HOLY FUCKING BASS TOO BABY. If you love bass, this is a great album for you. Absolute spook show here. Ghosts and demons and shit or whatever man idk this shit is like Satan creeping up on you. Absolute amazing. Then all of a sudden- BAAAAMMMMMMM THERE HE IS AND THE SONG CHANGES INTO HOLY FUCK THAT'S FAST, NOW YOU'RE RUNNING AWAY FROM THE DEVIL, OH MY GOD THERE HE IS HE'S RIGHT BEHIND YOU FUCKING RUN HOLY FUCK. Nah I'm just joking around, I'm a bit unhinged today. Yeah this song is absolutely fucking fast and amazing. Holy fuck this shit is absolutely amazing. TASTE ME. Solo time and of course it's fucking fire. Every solo on this album is a masterpiece. Marty Friedman is an absolute GOAT. He does SO many good fucking solos and ends on the perfect note.

Lucretia - SMMAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH. HOLY FUCKING SHIT CHILLS BABY. This shit is so fucking good. That opening is absolutely amazing. THIS IS GROOVY AS FUCK. HOLY FUCK THAT AFTER VERSE RIFF, ABSOLUTELY HEAVY. This song is so fucking amazing and absolutely underrated. It's SO WEIRD, I can't really describe it. I love this fucking song and there's nothing more to say. It's perfect. HOLY FUCKING THAT SOLO JUST BEGGING ME, IT'S INSANE. NOT A SINGLE FUCKING SOLO CAN MISS ON THIS ALBUM THEY ALL JUST HIT PERFECT.

Tornado of Souls - SMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. EASILY THE BEST FUCKING SONG OF THIS ALBUM, AND EASILY MY FAVOURITE MEGADETH SONG OF ALL FUCKING TIME BABY. THIS IS IIIIITTTTT. WE MADE IIIITTT.  THIS MORNING I MADE THE CALL. ABSOLUTE BATSHIT CRAZY, THIS SOLO LITERALLY HAS EVERYTHING YOU'D EVER WANT IN LIFE. THIS SOLO HAS MONEY, YOUR WIFE, YOUR KIDS, YOUR CAR, YOUR CAT, FUCKING ANYTHING YOU WANT AND THIS SOLO MAKES IT HAPPEN. Holy fuck that shit is insane. It's fucking crazy how incredible that solo is. It's PERFECT. That is THE perfect solo. This song is just an absolute joy and masterpiece the entire way through.

Dawn Patrol - SMMAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSHHHHHHHH. This FUCKING SONG IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF THE LAST ONE. There IS ZERO GUITAR. This is just a GROOVY ASS FUCKING BASS SONG ALL THE WAY THROUGH AND IT'S AN ABSOLUTE JOY. This is such a great fucking song. It's GROOVY AS FUCK. I feel like such a fucking badass during this song. It's so fucking sick. If you have a bass, play this fucking song. This is the grooviest fucking shit ever. HOLY FUCK. GREAT SONG, 10/10.

Rust In Peace...Polaris - SMMAAAAAAAAASSSSHHHHHHH. This one ALWAYS gets stuck in my head, and I ALWAYS hear Dave Mustaine saying the N word, but he's ACTUALLY saying "rotten egg air of death", and holy fuck every time it sounds like the N word. But WHATEVER. BESIDES THAT THIS SONG IS SO FUCKING AMAZING. IT'S SO GOD DAMN GROOVY. I LOVE THIS SONG. IT'S SO GOD DAMN GROOVY. THE GUITAR UNDERNEATH THE VERSE HOLY FUCK THAT SHIT GETS STUCK IN MY HEAD EVERY FUCKING DAY. RENT FREE BABY HOLY HELL. HOLY FUCK THAT CHORUS TOO. Holy fucking groovy. This song IS NOT OVER. You might think it's over but there's MORE. HOLY FUCK THAT GUITAR AFTER THE FAKE OUTRO. THERE ARE SO MANY SEXY GUITAR RIFFS IN THIS SONG.

Conclusion

This album is perfect. Based on the above and how much I freak out, YOU NEED TO GIVE THIS ALBUM A TRY. Open your mind, look past the shitty vocals and just ENJOY. GROVE IT AND MOVE IT. This album is fantastic. The best that Megadeth has ever made, and it's not even close. The guitar riffs are perfect, the solos are perfect, the bass is perfect the vocals are dogshit, the drums are perfect, EVERYTHING in this album is perfect. LISTEN TO IT.
