Intro

I know very little about NOFX. The only song I actually know by heart off this album is Seeing Double at the Triple Rock and I fucking love that song so I really wanted to check this album out. Anyway yeah pretty sure Jake asked me to check out this band so naturally I had to. I'm super behind right now so give me some slack boys, these reviews are fucking hard. Anyway yeah let's get into some NOFX. What do I think of this classic punk rock band? Let's get into it!

Thoughts & Feelings?

This band is so fucking good. They hold up against the other old school bands like Bad Religion, Rancid, Social Distortion, stuff like that. This band fucking rocks and I have not given them the respect they deserve. They sound fucking great. The guitar sounds so good in each song it's hard for me to find faults in that aspect.

This album makes me feel like I'm being yelled at by my parents for doing something stupid. Like I accidentally broke the back garage window because I wanted to prove to the girls how hard I could throw a tennis ball and I shattered the window and I'm getting yelled at for it. I'm just joking I didn't get into very much shit for that, it wasn't really a big deal to them. Anyway yeah that's how I feel about this album don't ask me to elaborate further.

Smash or Pass?

60% - Smash. What the fuck is this? Is this some jazz ass shit? Hilarious. I feel like I've heard this song before though. This is a strange song but it's a good opening track. Holy FUCK it gets so good halfway through though.

USA-holes - SMASH. Holy fuck that bass sounds fucking insane, plus fast action hell kicking guitar. That sounds fucking sick. This gives me so much Green Day vibes based on the guitar only. Sick ass wah solo, love to hear that shit. This song is so fucking good. I love it very fucking much.

Seeing Double at the Triple Rock - SMASH. As I said in the intro, this was the only song I actually knew and I FUCKING love this song. It is so fucking good. Holy fuck it went by so quick though. So good. Guitar is on so many good levels.

We March to the Beat of Indifferent Drum - Smash. This song is pretty good but I don't like it nearly as much as I liked the Triple Rock. Nothing wrong with this song I just think it's alright. Good song regardless though.

The Marxist Brothers - SMASH. Fucking love when songs transition into each other. That shit is sick. This song is pretty fucking cool. I like it better than the last one but not as good as Triple Rock. This song is so strange because everything is very droning and ominous. SICK ass fucking solo to finalize the song. That shit is so cool.

The Man I Killed - SMASH. Oh my goodness this sounds like a song straight out of Tony Hawk Pro Skater. I fucking love this song. This honestly feels like straight up skate punk it's fucking great. It probably is to be honest. This song is great.

Benny Got Blowed Up - Smash. This song is pretty fucking good. It's extremely short at like 1 minute but it's pretty decent. I enjoy it.

Leaving Jesusland - Smash. This song is much slower and chunkier which is nice to hear, a little difference. Nice to hear, this song is really fucking cool. This song is super catchy, I fucking adore it.

Getting High on the Down Low - SMASH. Holy fucking... who's that one band that stabbed their amps with pencils? The Kinks? That's exactly what this fucking song sounds like. Kickass solo thrown in there, love to hear those accidental pinch harmonics thrown in there once in a while that shit sounds sick. I fucking LOVE this song though it's so good.

Cool and Unusual Punishment - Smash. This song is pretty fucking catchy but I'm not super into it. This is a good song regardless however. I very much enjoy listening to it but I think it's just a little bit too easy going. The chorus is super fucking good though. Hell yeah.

Wolves in Wolves' Clothing - Smash. WHAT THE FUCK? This band has the ability to switch from absolute punk rock to NEARLY jazz. It's fucking awesome. Like this song sounds so fucking sick and you'd never expect it to be on the same album as any of these other punk rock ass songs it's so cool. Shoutout to you boys NOFX you guys are great at this- and then ahahahaha of course it goes straight into punk rock. I fucking love it. This song is AWESOME. I think I enjoy this song over Triple Rock to be honest, it just makes me fucking smile and I love how fast as fuck it is.

Cantado en Español - Smash. I have been looking forward to this one cause I have no idea what this will be. It's completely in Spanish. The bass sounds fucking sick though.

100 Times Fuckeder - Smash. This song is fucking sick. Fast ass action punk rock song as you would expect to hear. I love the guitar line but I wish they did a little more with it. I don't really know what else they could have done but I just want it to explode.

Instant Crassic - SMASH. WHAT THE FUCK? This song is fucking weird. It's also 30 seconds long holy shit lmao.

You Will Lose Faith - SMASH. Great song. Holy FUCK. "Where's your god now?" love that shit. So fucking good. Yeah this song is absolutely sick and holy fuck the drums go so god damn hard, love to hear that. Holy FUCK that bass section.

One Celled Creature - Smash. This song has a cool guitar line but I'm not crazy into it. It's a pretty good song regardless though.

Doornails - Smash. Oh shit this fucking song is crazy deep. Fuck I hate this. Like- it's amazing, it's incredible but it makes me so fucking sad. It's an acoustic ballad about suicide / drug abuse. Amazing song but makes me super sad.

60% (Reprise) - SMASH. A great punk rock song to end it all off. I am really sad listening to this actually. I really enjoyed this album a lot more than I thought I would. Haha this song is fucking hilarious though.

Conclusion

This album is EXACTLY what I expected it to be. A compilation of punk rock songs that are fast and short as fuck, some solos thrown in there and just overall a great fucking time. I was NOT expecting so many elements to be present in these songs though. That was a great unexpected thing and I fucking loved it. I love this album because it is just SO punk rock, so skate punk it's so great. Much love to this album I think it's fucking fantastic.
